Job Description:
The cornerstone of the Medical Billing Revenue Cycle is the Demo Entry Executive, also known as the Demographics Entry Executive. This position is in charge of accurately entering patient data from source papers, such as hospital face sheets, insurance cards, and patient registration forms, into the billing system. Errors at this stage result in rapid claim rejections and payment delays, so you must be sure that every detail—from the name spelling to the insurance group number—is 100% correct. A quick, accurate typist with a keen eye for detail and a rudimentary familiarity of the US healthcare system is the perfect applicant.
Key Duties:
Demographics Entry: Provide correct personal information such as name, date of birth, gender, address, and Social Security number (SSN) when registering new patients and updating current records.
/>Insurance Verification Entry: Make sure the right Payer ID, Policy Number, and Group Number are chosen when entering primary, secondary, and tertiary insurance information.
Data validation is the process of cross-referencing information from several sources to find inconsistencies or missing information (such as inconsistent addresses or expired insurance).
Provider Matching: Ensure that the billing software accurately associates the patient interaction with the particular referring and rendering physician.
Manage demographics for different medical specialties, such as radiology, cardiology, or lab services, each of which has different data input needs.
Volume Management: Achieve daily "Production Targets" while keeping a high "Quality Score" (often 98% or higher).
