Your Duties:
Claim Follow-up: Keep an eye on the aging report and get in touch with insurance firms by phone or online to find out the status of any unresolved claims.
Denial Management: Examine Electronic Remittance Advice (ERA) and Explanation of Benefits (EOB) to determine why claims were rejected.
Appeals Processing: To challenge denials of improper claims, draft and submit official appeal letters along with the required medical records.
Trend analysis: Find recurrent trends in claim denials from particular payers and recommend process enhancements to the front desk or coding teams.
Payment Posting Verification:
Verify that the amounts received correspond to the agreed-upon rates and find any underpayments for additional reimbursement.
Patient Coordination: Inform patients of their financial obligations, including co-pays, deductibles, and out-of-pocket costs in the event that insurance coverage is exhausted.
