Position Overview

General Purchasing has an exciting opportunity for an IT Category Manager. Supports and ensures that general purchasing functions, such as RFI, RFP, supplier negotiations, cost analysis, vendor selection and contracting are completed. Provides approvals within the Ivaula and PeopleSoft systems to ensure corporate purchasing processes and policies are followed. Interacts directly with various internal stakeholders at all levels within Navistar and outside suppliers.


Responsibilities

Looking for experienced IT procurement partner to work with CIO, and functional IT professionals to develop go to market strategies and agreements
Experience in working with stakeholders to understand requirements to send out RFP’s, leading a complete analysis of options, and completing contracts or purchase orders.
Can develop strategies and understand impacts of software, hardware, and consulting services
Keeps current on best practices for insourcing vs. outsourcing
Understands technology and how to procure
Developing and implementing strategies collaboratively with the IT group for cost reductions.
Interaction with CIO and directors of IT along with other functional groups like Legal, Finance, and Insurance.
Managing IT spend of around $80 million of spend and 370 suppliers.

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor's degree
At least 8 years of supply chain, engineering or manufacturing experience
1 year lead experience
OR

/>
Master's degree
At least 6 years of supply chain, engineering or manufacturing experience
1 year lead experience
OR

At least 10 years of supply chain, engineering or manufacturing experience
1 year lead experience

Additional Requirements

Qualified candidates, excluding current Navistar employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States.
