Position Overview
The Category Manager, Aftermarket Brakes is an integral part of the procurement team. The initial goal will be to gain a solid knowledge of the team’s supply base, company and procurement processes, and understanding of the roles and personnel of associated work groups inside Navistar.
As Category Manager for Aftermarket Brakes, you will be responsible for managing an estimated spend of $250M.
Key activities include, but not limited to:
management of Cost Reduction projects,
assisting with strategic sourcing activities for new programs and transfer business,
supplier contract negotiations and administration,
supplier performance management,
working closely with the Best Cost Country Sourcing Team on projects and developing strategies for tail spend suppliers to effectively consolidate the supply base.
As Category Manger, Aftermarket Brakes you will be a member of a Category Management Team (CMT), which provides the opportunity to work cross functionally within Navistar interfacing with the product development, program management, quality, manufacturing, risk management, finance, logistics, aftermarket parts, product pricing, supply chain and more.
Demonstrating solid performance in this role will position you well for advancement into jobs of higher responsibility within Navistar Procurement.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor's degree
At least 8 years of supply chain, engineering or manufacturing experience
1 year lead experience
OR
Master's degree
At least 6 years of supply chain, engineering or manufacturing experience
1 year lead experience
OR
At least 10 years of supply chain, engineering
or manufacturing experience
1 year lead experience
Additional Requirements
Qualified candidates, excluding current Navistar employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States. Purchasing, engineering, manufacturing or quality experience
Familiarity with manufacturing processes and key cost drivers
Ability to read & understand prints and technical specifications is a plus
